I’m working with a fast-growing energy technology company that is scaling a complex hardware manufacturing platform and looking to hire a Senior NPI Manufacturing Engineer with deep experience across welding, metal fabrication, and supplier industrialization.

This is a technical, supplier-facing role focused on taking welded metal components and assemblies from early design and DFM review through supplier selection, process readiness, production launch, and ongoing quality support.

The key focus is manufacturability and supplier execution. You’ll work closely with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and external suppliers to make sure welded components are designed, qualified, and scaled properly.

You’ll be involved in:

• Supplier capability assessments, audits, and technical selection
• Industrialization of welded and fabricated metal components
• Reviewing drawings, GD&T, tolerances, weld requirements, and supplier feedback
• Supporting process validation, production readiness, and supplier launch
• Driving root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality improvements
• Helping suppliers establish robust process controls and quality standards
• Communicating risks, actions, timelines, and technical trade-offs across multiple stakeholders

This would suit someone from a welding engineering, manufacturing engineering, supplier development, supplier quality, NPI, or metal fabrication background.

Relevant experience could come from automotive, EV, battery systems, aerospace, heavy industrial equipment, energy, construction equipment, machinery, or high-volume fabricated metal products
.

The ideal profile is someone who can look at a welded metal design, understand the manufacturing risks, work with suppliers to identify practical solutions, and help take parts from concept into scalable production.
