Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are a cutting-edge defense tech start-up, building autonomous drone systems. At only 4 years old, we have received $200 M in Series B funding, with a $2.2 B evaluation. If you want to join a company with a rare trajectory and utilize our growth to catapult your career, please apply!
AboutThe Role
We are looking for a Digital Power Electronics Firmware Engineer to develop embedded firmware for the advanced power conversion systems at the heart of our autonomous defense platforms. You will work at the intersection of firmware and power electronics, developing control systems for DC-DC converters, power distribution, and energy management that enable efficient, reliable operation in demanding field environments.
What You’ll Do- Design and implement embedded firmware in C/C++ for digital control of power electronics systems, including DC-DC converters, voltage regulation, and power distribution.
- Use simulation tools such as SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink to model, validate, and optimize control systems prior to hardware implementation.
- Partner with electrical engineers to bring up and validate power electronics hardware; perform lab debugging and validation under various load conditions.
- Improve efficiency, stability, and thermal performance of power systems through firmware optimization and continuous iteration.
- 3+ years of experience in embedded firmware development with power electronics systems.
- Experience with digital control of DC-DC converters, inverters, or power management systems; strong understanding of analog and digital power systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems and experience with microcontrollers such as STM
32, TI C2000, or similar. - Familiarity with implementing control algorithms such as PID loops (including anti-windup), as well as PWM and phase-shift control for power topologies.
- Familiarity with simulation tools including SPICE, MATLAB, and Simulink.
- Experience with digital power control loops and compensation techniques.
- Familiarity with high-efficiency power design and EMI considerations.
- Experience with battery systems or energy management systems.
- Background in defense, aerospace, or robotics systems.
- Experience implementing advanced digital control techniques, including PID tuning, anti-windup strategies, and PWM/phase-shift modulation for power systems.
