Robotics, Systems Engineer, AI Engineer (Applied/Software)
An industry-leading autonomous driving technology company has engaged us to find an Autonomy Systems Engineer to help define and validate the behavior of next-generation self-driving systems. In this highly collaborative, hands-on individual contributor role, you'll work at the heart of autonomous vehicle development, helping ensure that complex autonomy software behaves safely and reliably across both simulation and real-world environments. You'll partner closely with cross-functional engineering teams to shape the future of scalable autonomous driving technology.
Abit about the company:
Strategic Growth Stage:
The company is one of the best-funded autonomous driving technology companies in the U.S. and is rapidly expanding its engineering organization as it partners with leading automotive manufacturers and mobility providers to bring autonomous driving technology to commercial scale.
Mission-Driven Innovation:
Rather than operating its own vehicle fleet, the company is building a scalable autonomous driving platform that can be licensed across multiple vehicle types and mobility applications. By combining advanced AI with automotive-grade hardware, they're creating a flexible autonomy solution that enables safer, smarter, and more connected transportation.
Impactful Work:
Engineers work on some of the industry's most challenging autonomy problems, developing and validating the behavior of self-driving systems across simulation and real-world testing. This role offers the opportunity to influence how autonomous vehicles safely perceive, predict, plan, and operate within complex driving environments while contributing to technology that will power the next generation of mobility.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of technical experience, including at least 3 years developing or validating autonomous vehicles, robotics, or other autonomous systems.
- Experience defining behavior requirements for SAE Level 2, Level 3, or Level 4 autonomous systems, or other robotic platforms operating safely within their Operational Design Domain (ODD).
- Experience with both simulation and real-world testing of autonomous systems.
- Strong understanding of autonomy architecture, including sensing, localization, perception, prediction, behavior planning, and control.
- Hands-on software development experience using Python and/or C++.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
