Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Project Transportation Planner to join its growing transportation and infrastructure practice in Northern California
. This individual will contribute to the execution of multimodal transportation planning and mobility initiatives for a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients. The position offers the opportunity to work on transportation impact studies, corridor planning, CEQA/NEPA analyses, and infrastructure master planning efforts, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, project management experience, and a deep understanding of California transportation policy, entitlement processes, and regional agency coordination.

Job Responsibilities
  • Drive project execution across transportation planning and traffic analysis initiatives from proposal through delivery, ensuring alignment with overall project and team objectives.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
  • Oversee and contribute to technical studies and documentation, including:
  • Transportation impact analyses and Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) studies
  • CEQA/NEPA transportation documentation and environmental review support
  • Corridor, mobility, and multimodal planning studies
  • Parking, access, and site circulation analyses
  • Complete Streets, active transportation, and transit‑oriented development initiatives
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineering, environmental, and land development professionals, to support integrated project delivery.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and staffing plans, ensuring quality through established QA/QC processes.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance and quality control.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client engagement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in transportation planning and/or traffic engineering.
  • Professional licensure (PE, TE, or similar) required.
  • In‑depth knowledge of transportation planning principles, policies, and analytical methodologies.
  • Experience with transportation analysis tools and GIS platforms is preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management and client management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
