Job Description And DutiesUnder the general direction of the Program and Project Supervisor in the Transmission Planning and Policy Section of the Energy Infrastructure Branch, the Utilities Engineer will perform a wide variety of analytical and consumer advocacy transmission policy planning assignments, including: transmission permitting; interconnection of renewable generation and data center large loads to the transmission grid; cost/benefit analysis of transmission; regional transmission planning;
transmission cost allocation; and general rate case proceedings.
The incumbent will also present findings, conclusions and recommendations in written testimony and testify orally as an expert witness in formal proceedings In addition, the incumbent may provide comments on California Independent System Operator (CAISO) initiatives, California Energy Commission workshops or reports, and Western Energy Coordinating Council (WECC) workshops or reports.
