Job Description & How to Apply Below
Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer – First-of-a-Kind Energy Systems
Location: Bay Area, CA / Denver, CO / Boston, MA (Hybrid / Relocation Available)
Salary: $135,000 – $175,000 + Equity + Full Benefits
The Opportunity:Tired of incrementally tweaking legacy components?
We are partnering with a premier, heavily funded ($500M+) leader in the energy transition to design and deploy first-of-a-kind clean energy hardware. You won't just be running simulations, you will own complex mechanical sub-assemblies from initial CAD conceptualization through physical prototyping, thermal testing, and plant deployment.
What You’ll Do:- Design critical high‑temperature, high‑pressure mechanical components for novel clean energy reactors.
- Perform thermal, structural, and fluid FEA simulations (ANSYS / Solid Works / Abaqus) to validate designs against extreme operating conditions.
- Work directly with machine shops, fabrication vendors, and internal technicians to build and instrument physical prototypes.
- Troubleshoot hardware failures in test rigs and iterate design changes rapidly.
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- 5+ years of hands‑on mechanical design experience bringing physical hardware from CAD to test.
- Proficiency in Solid Works/NX and thermal/structural FEA analysis.
- Experience with GD&T (ASME Y14.5), thermal fluid systems, or high‑temperature alloys (Inconel, Stainless 316, Hastelloy).
