Internships at Astranis typically last for twelve weeks, and are hourly roles designed for students who are currently enrolled at a four‑year university.

As an Intern, you will have an amazing opportunity to work on hard problems - we pride ourselves on giving everyone at Astranis a chance to do meaningful work on challenging projects, no matter their seniority. Many past interns have designed and tested hardware/software that is currently in space or heading to space shortly on on of our satellites, and many of them are now full‑time employees at Astranis.

• The Harness Manufacturing Intern will support the design, build, and continuous improvement of wire harness and cable assembly processes. This role provides hands‑on exposure to production environments, manufacturing documentation, quality systems, and process optimization in a low/medium volume production setting.
• Support manufacturing engineers with process documentation and work instruction review
• Assist with wire harness and cable assembly builds, including cutting, stripping, crimping, labeling, and lacing
• Participate in quality inspections
• Help analyze manufacturing issues such as defects, rework, and throughput constraints
• Assist with equipment qualification, tooling and fixture improvements, and test setups
• Support DFM/DFA feedback to engineering teams
• Collect and review production data for process improvement initiatives

• Currently pursuing a four‑year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
• A passion for hardware development, including working in a fast‑paced environment and hands‑on design and development
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
• Strong communication skills
• Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operation
• Must be onsite 5 days a week

• Hands‑on experience in designing, building, and testing any type or hardware
• Experience working a laboratory or industrial environment
• Experience in CAD
• Direct electrical or mechanical design experience

The base pay for this position is $29.00 per hour.

Base Hourly Pay $29 — $29 USD
