Job Description & How to Apply Below

Skylight is a female-owned and operated venue development group with locations in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The company partners with distinct real estate and global brands to transform unique spaces into cultural hubs. Skylight specializes in crafting spaces that merge heritage architecture with contemporary uses, shaping the future of events and gatherings. Their mission highlights blending creativity, culture, and community through innovative space transformation.

Role Description

The Site Representative serves as Skylight’s onsite lead during events, acting as the “eyes and ears” of management from load-in through load-out. This role is responsible for maintaining situational awareness across the venue, identifying issues before they escalte, supporting clients and vendors, and ensuring all activity aligns with safety standards and venue policies. It’s ideal for someone who is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and comfortable making real-time judgment calls in live environments.

All hours are dependent on event hours. Opportunities include early mornings, late nights, and weekends and we’re happy to schedule based on availability (i.e. if you can only work weekends).

Qualifications
  • 1-2+ years of experience supporting live events, productions, or on-site operations in a hands-on capacity.
  • Strong situational awareness and ability to remain calm and solution-oriented in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Clear, professional communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Highly dependable, punctual, and accountable.
  • Comfortable working independently on-site while following a run-of-show or event direction.
  • Proactive problem solver with sound judgment and the ability to elevate issues appropriately.
  • Production-minded, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to operate with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with basic digital tools (email, calendars, shared documents) for schedules and reporting.
  • Flexible availability based on event schedules, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain an active and visible onsite presence throughout load-in, event hours, and load-out as Skylight’s representative.
  • Act as the “eyes and ears” of management, proactively identifying operational risks, safety concerns, and client or vendor issues before they escalte.
  • Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for clients, vendors, building teams, and security, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Monitor overall event flow to ensure timelines are being followed and activities remain consistent with venue policies, safety standards, and contractual guidelines.
  • Support clients with real-time questions and requests while ensuring all decisions align with internal approvals and operational boundaries.
  • Observe vendor activity to ensure proper use of venue spaces, adherence to access rules, and respectful treatment of the property.
  • Partner with onsite security and building staff to maintain a safe, compliant, and well-managed environment.
  • Intervene professionally when issues arise and elevate concerns through the appropriate internal channels.
  • Document and report notable incidents, damages, deviations from plan, or policy violations.
  • Uphold Skylight’s standards of professionalism, hospitality, and operational excellence at all times.
Pay and Benefits
  • This is a W-2 part-time, on-demand position employed directly by Skylight.
  • $30–$40 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x after 8 hours and 2x after 12 hours in a single workday.
  • $25 meal stipend per workday.
  • Paid Sick Leave accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (up to 48 hours per year).
