Position: Member Events Operations Manager

Department: Member Events / Programming

Reports To: Director of Programming

FLSA: Salary – Exempt

COMPANY PROFILE

The Battery is San Francisco's premier modern-era private social club, recognized by the Michelin Guide with Two Keys — one of the highest distinctions awarded to a hospitality property worldwide. Set within a historic building on Battery Street, the Club features seven distinctive bars and lounges alongside acclaimed dining rooms serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. The Battery also offers a boutique 14-suite hotel, including penthouse accommodations, elegant private event spaces, lush gardens, and sweeping views of the San Francisco skyline.

Members enjoy a dynamic cultural calendar of world-class speakers, performing arts, curated experiences, publications, and excursions. Through Battery Powered, the Club's member-funded 501(c)(3) foundation, The Battery has directed more than $35 million in grants to organizations building a stronger society — reflecting a rare combination of world-class hospitality and purpose.

POSITION PROFILE

The Member Events Operations Manager owns the day-to-day execution of The Battery's Member Events programming, running the majority of the Club's recurring events — trivia nights, comedy, Saturday concerts, and other repeat programming — from setup through breakdown. This is not an occasional floor-support role; on most days, this person is the operational lead on the ground for whatever Member Event is happening.

Beyond live execution, this role owns the operational and administrative backbone of the department: maintaining the recurring programming calendar, advancing events with artists, speakers, and vendors ahead of time, and handling invoicing and post-event documentation. This is a hands-on, floor-based position suited for someone with hospitality and event experience who thrives in live environments, understands service flow, and can manage staff and logistics in real time.

The role works closely with Programming and Food & Beverage leadership to deliver consistent, well-run events that meet the Club's standards.

Because this role supports live events and Club operations, flexibility is essential. Hours will shift based on the event calendar and business needs; the position requires regular evening work, including late nights, as well as occasional Sundays and holidays. Candidates should be comfortable working a schedule that varies week to week.

This is an on-site position located in San Francisco.

BATTERY PROGRAMS

Member Events produces a wide range of programming, including but not limited to: high-end culinary events, wine and spirit tastings, comedy nights, live music concerts, lectures and panels, trivia and game nights, networking events, DJ nights, and family programs.
