Job Description & How to Apply Below

Bay Padel's vision is to build the premier racquet sports community on the West Coast, where high level play meets a strong social and brand experience on and off the court.

We operate four padel and pickleball clubs across the San Francisco Bay Area:
Treasure Island, Dogpatch, Sunnyvale, and San Jose, our newest location. Each club is a hub for members to play, connect, and be part of a growing community around the sport.

The Role

We are hiring an Events & Partnerships Manager to own the events and brand partnerships strategy for our Bay Area clubs.

This is a hands-on, in-person role. You will be on-site at events you run, and spend regular time on the clubs getting to know members, understanding behavior patterns, and translating that insight into better events and partnerships. You are equal parts event producer, vendor negotiator, brand deal closer, and community observer.

What You'll Do

Event planning and execution

  • Own the full lifecycle of in-house events in the Bay Area: concept, budget, vendor sourcing, logistics, day-of execution, and post-event recap
  • Set a clear goal for every event before it happens (new member conversion, member retention, brand awareness, revenue) in partnership with the marketing team, and be accountable for hitting it
  • Manage vendor relationships end to end: sourcing, negotiating, contracting, and on-site coordination
  • Act as event host for large private events, such as corporate events: greet guests, represent Bay Padel as the face of the event, and make sure the on-site experience runs smoothly from a guest's perspective

Brand partnerships

  • Identify, pitch, and close brand partnerships that fit Bay Padel's positioning, both for specific events and as ongoing relationships
  • Manage partnerships at the company level, meaning deals you close may activate across all four clubs, not only Sunnyvale and San Jose
  • Bring sponsorship opportunities to the VP of Marketing and Strategy for joint evaluation before closing (this is a collaborative decision, not a solo one)

Budget and revenue accountability

  • Work with the VP of Marketing and Strategy to set a revenue expectation for each event, and build the budget against that target
  • Track spend against budget and report on ROI per event

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Work closely with the marketing team to align event and partnership goals with broader growth campaigns
  • Work with the operations team to make sure events run smoothly within the day-to-day club operation
How You'll Work

This role lives on-site, not behind a desk. You are expected to spend regular time on the clubs getting to know members and prospects firsthand. That is not a separate task on your list, it is how you do every other part of the job well: the events you plan, the partnerships you pursue, and the goals you set should all be shaped by what you're seeing and hearing from the community day to date.

What

We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in events, partnerships, or brand management, ideally in retail or sports (padel, pickleball, tennis, or adjacent industries are a strong plus, but not required)
  • A track record of planning and executing in-person events from concept to completion, not just supporting someone else's plan
  • Experience negotiating and managing vendor or brand relationships
  • Comfortable owning a budget and being measured against a revenue or conversion target
  • Fluent English required;
Spanish is a nice-to-have given the padel demographic
  • Willingness to be on-site regularly at Sunnyvale and San Jose, including evenings and weekends when events require it
  • Self-starter who can operate without a team under them, at least initially — this role coordinates external vendors and works closely with marketing and operations, but does not currently have direct reports
