Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting
Our client is a well-established real estate investment and property management organization based in San Francisco. They manage a diverse portfolio of properties and pride themselves on delivering accurate, timely financial reporting while maintaining a collaborative and supportive team culture.
Position OverviewThe Senior Accounting Analyst will help oversee this firm's large portfolio, focusing on in-depth analysis of their financials. They will also oversee day-to-day accounting operations, while sitting in a reviewing capacity for reconciliations and financial statements. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a blend of Accounting and Finance within their day to day, thrives in a high-volume environment, likes providing oversight, and brings strong discipline and accuracy to financial review.
This person may help manage a team and will play a key role in ensuring accounting integrity and timeliness.
This role is on site- 4x week in San Francisco - Free Parking Provided.
Key Responsibilities- Complete in depth analysis on financials, including variance analysis across the portfolio.
- Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for assigned real estate portfolio
- Review and approve property-level financial statements, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activity
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to staff accountants (with potential for direct reports)
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Partner closely with property management and operations teams to support business needs
- Assist with audits, reporting packages, and ad-hoc analysis
- Support process improvements to drive efficiency in a high-volume accounting environment
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience; real estate experience strongly preferred
- Experience reviewing financials and reconciliations in a high-volume setting
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems such as Yardi, MRI, Real Page, or similar
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Excellent communication and collaborative mindset
