Finance & Investor Relations Manager; Japanese Speaking

Overview

Japan-focused Venture Capital Fund in the SF Bay Area is on the market for an Investor Relations Manager who will be responsible for the account management of limited partners ("LP") based in Japan. The individual will report to the Director and will also work across the firm’s investment professionals, operating groups, finance, legal and compliance team members in coordinating the capital formation and investor relations activities.

Fluency in Japanese Required.

• Maintain and enhance existing LP relationships, including appropriate reporting and IRL/online event
• Issue LP quarterly reports which includes consolidated investment write-ups which will be fine-tuned in Japanese
• Assist in the execution of the firm’s quarterly and annual LP events, including drafting key messages/materials and overseeing event-related details (IRL/online) to enable takeaways, connections and networking opportunities
• Generate reports to Japan FSA (Financial Service Agency) and SECC
• Design and produce financial analyses to support investor communications.
• Collect market intelligence and perform ongoing research of the venture capital industry, including industry best practices and relevant venture market data.
• Interface with portfolio companies and review financial statements and submit reports
• Manage the closing of older funds

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Fluent in Japanese, proficient in reading & writing
• Investor relation and/or venture capital experience NOT required but helpful
• Understanding of Japanese work culture and experience at a Japanese Corporation is helpful
• Ability to travel to Japan once or twice a year

$130k to $200k base + 20% target bonuses
