About the Opportunity:
This role is an excellent opportunity for candidates with SEC reporting or audit experience to join a well‑established financial institution committed to promoting home ownership, expanding access to affordable housing, and supporting economic development. The SEC Reporting Analyst prepares financial statements—including quarterly and annual SEC filings, XBRL tagging, regulatory submissions, and various internal/external reports.
The role provides technical accounting support, analytical insights, and cross‑department collaboration to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting.
- Prepare and coordinate comment collection for quarterly and annual SEC reports (8‑K, 10‑Q, 10‑K) in Workiva, including XBRL requirements
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for the Office of Finance and Federal Housing Finance Agency, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual summaries of financial results for senior leadership
- Analyze variances and financial trends as part of monthly reporting
- Respond to inquiries from the SEC and other stakeholders; collaborate with Legal and internal departments
- Monitor SEC and FASB updates and recommend enhanced disclosures
- Assist in developing and maintaining reporting tools within Workday Financials
- Gather audit support, prepare audit trails, and compile data from various sources across the Bank
- Review quarterly and annual Combined Financial Reports issued by the Office of Finance
- Propose updates to internal control matrices in alignment with Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements
- Advise other departments on accounting treatment and disclosure requirements
- Support automation initiatives in Workiva and other reporting tools
- Perform additional reporting tasks as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CPA, MBA, or post‑baccalaureate credentials strongly preferred
- Minimum two years of applicable accounting or auditing experience—preferably in a financial institution
- Strong knowledge of SEC reporting requirements and disclosure research
- Experience preparing or reviewing 8‑K, 10‑Q, 10‑K, and XBRL submissions
- Ability to research and resolve complex reporting issues
- Working knowledge of automated accounting systems;
Workday Financials exposure preferred - High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to prioritize deadlines in a fast‑paced, self‑directed environment
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to efficiently gather, analyze, and report large volumes of financial data
- Experience with Workiva or similar reporting platforms
- Experience working within a financial institution or auditing one
