Square Financial Services, Inc ("SFS") is Block's bank. We opened in March 2021 and provide lending and FDIC insured deposits services to small businesses and consumers on a nationwide basis. The SFS Product team enables the bank with modern infrastructure and high-quality services, and is responsible for developing and executing on the Bank's strategic roadmap. We aim to become Block's bank in both name and practice, and focus on empowering the small businesses and consumers served by the Block ecosystem.
We're looking for a Payment Network Program Manager to join our Product & Strategy team and help expand SFS acquiring capabilities, including acquiring Bank Identification Number (BIN) sponsorship and other payment network initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Acquiring and Network Services, you'll play a key role in building and scaling our acquiring BIN sponsorship program. You'll partner closely with cross-functional teams across Block and SFS to drive successful execution of our acquiring strategy while ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance, adherence to card network requirements, and effective risk management.
YouWill
- Create and manage acquiring project plans and implementation timelines for both Square and Cash App business initiatives
- Prepare, lead, and coordinate responses to payment network investigations, audits, and compliance reviews
- Serve as an internal subject matter expert (SME) on payment card network requirements, acting as a liaison between the networks and Square Financial Services (SFS)
- Monitor, interpret, and operationalize payment network rule changes and regulatory guidance
- Coordinate network escalations to resolve compliance, risk, and operational issues
- Maintain, consolidate, and manage payment network documentation, including approvals, waivers, and formal network communications, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness
- Develop and maintain dashboards that consolidate operational, risk, and compliance metrics
- Update and maintain policies, procedures, and guidance, including tracking revisions and version control
- Assist with ongoing oversight responsibilities, including risk assessments and issue management
- 5+ years of experience in payments, merchant acquiring or financial services, or a related regulated environment
- Strong understanding of payment network rules, banking regulations, and compliance or risk management requirements
- Experience leading complex programs or initiatives end-to-end, including defining scope, managing timelines, and reporting on progress and outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with experience translating complex requirements into clear, actionable guidance
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining a high bar for quality and accuracy
