This Senior Property Accountant will be under the supervision of the Accounting Manager and will assist with financial reporting and overseeing 3rd party accountants.

Duties Include:
  • Maintain accurate financial records in compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Prepare and calculate management fees and other amounts payable to third parties.
  • Post month-end journal entries and support the monthly close process.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure supporting schedules and work papers are current.
  • Coordinate timely debt service payments.
  • Support Asset Managers with the preparation and submission of lender draw requests.
  • Conduct detailed cash analysis at the project level to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Review and monitor expenditures using NEXUS (accounts payable system) and MRI (general ledger system).
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform vendor verification calls to confirm changes to banking and payment information.
  • Compile financial schedules and work papers in support of external audits.
  • Assist with data collection and preparation of annual financial statements and related footnote disclosures.
  • Prepare tax reporting packages for external tax advisors and review partnership tax returns.
  • Respond to tax and audit-related requests and inquiries as required.
  • Assist with quarter-end close activities.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly financial statements and investor reporting packages.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for Asset Management and lending partners as needed.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

At least 3 years' experience in property accounting

CPA preferred

Knowledge of MRI, Nexus, and advanced Excel skills
