Senior Accountant
Our client, a prominent PE firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant to support one of its growing open-ended investment vehicles.
LocationSan Francisco, CA. The position is hybrid, with three in‑office days per week.
Job DescriptionOur client manages a diverse portfolio across multiple strategies and has experienced significant expansion in recent years, creating strong internal development opportunities. This role sits within a high‑caliber accounting team (mostly CPAs) and offers exposure to complex fund structures, transactions, and cross‑functional business partners. This is a newly created position to support a $2B investment vehicle within our client.
Responsibilities- Serve as a key accounting contact for assigned investment vehicles, collaborating with internal teams and third‑party administrators.
- Support financial reporting, including GAAP financial statements, investor reporting, capital account activity, and quarterly reporting packages.
- Assist with investment transaction accounting, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing activity, and related cash management.
- Review fund administrator deliverables for accuracy before distribution to investors, lenders, and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate audit processes, tax information requests, and responses to external auditor inquiries.
- Prepare and review cash projections, capital calls, distributions, and other fund‑level cash activity.
- Research accounting issues and support the development of appropriate technical conclusions.
- Support portfolio management and client relations through the preparation of financial information for investors.
- Perform other finance and accounting duties as assigned.
- 3‑4 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in public accounting.
- Experience in fund accounting or investment‑related financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and preparation of financial statements.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain strong attention to detail.
