About

The Role

As a Revenue Accountant, you will play a key role within Kikoff’s growing accounting and finance team. You will serve in a team of revenue recognition subject matter experts at the Company and ensure that Kikoff’s revenue and revenue-adjacent reporting remains compliant with ASC 606, ASC 310, and ASC 326. Additionally, you will be responsible for revenue monthly close activities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in revenue recognition principles, Fintech or adjacent industry experience, and the ability to collaborate strategically with cross-functional teams on existing and new product offerings, and will function as a key point of contact for revenue-related considerations.

The role reports into the Director of Revenue Accounting and will be located in our San Francisco office (in office 3 days/week).

What You Will Do
  • Being a contributing member of the team responsible for the financial integrity of the company's revenues, deferred revenue, accounts receivables, and unbilled revenue
  • Applying ASC 606 and company policies to determine proper revenue recognition for SaaS subscription, partner revenue share as well as usage-based models
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue close processes by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing variances, and creating disclosures
  • Prepare and update schedules and work papers related to revenue accounts while ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Reconcile data between systems/sources, identify discrepancies and collaborate with data and engineering to determine root causes and propose solutions
  • Prepare documentation and schedules required to respond to audit requests related to revenue accounting
  • Research and review applicable sales tax calculations; review monthly sales tax filings
  • Partner across multiple cross-functional teams as the leader for all revenue accounting related matters on new products and product feature updates
  • Engage in ongoing system and process enhancements, including testing, documentation, and providing feedback on automation efforts
About You
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in revenue accounting, ideally with a mix of industry and public accounting experience
  • Experience working at a late-stage or public Fintech, lending, financial services or e-commerce / marketplace / internet company(ies) with high transaction volumes preferred
  • CPA designation is strongly desired
  • Experience with ETL tools and other data transformation tools (Alteryx, Metabase, Snowflake, etc.) is a plus
  • You're passionate about building systems and process improvements, and thrive in bringing process and organization to complex environments
  • Ability to automate and simplify large datasets
  • Experience with SOX and internal controls is a plus
  • You’re detail oriented and have high analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong written and oral communication skills
  • You’re curious and willing to embrace AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results

Base Range

$120,000 - $130,000 USD
