Position Summary

The Senior Vice President (SVP), Corporate & Commercial Banking provides executive leadership over the organization’s corporate and commercial banking strategy, portfolio performance, and client relationships. This role is responsible for driving sustainable growth, portfolio quality, and exceptional member and client experience across business and commercial banking. As a senior leader, the SVP sets strategic direction, ensures strong risk management and regulatory compliance, and leads a high‑performing team focused on relationship‑based banking and long‑term portfolio health.

Key Responsibilities Strategy & Business Leadership
  • Develop and execute the corporate and commercial banking strategy aligned with organizational goals and risk appetite.
  • Drive portfolio growth, profitability, and relationship expansion across business and commercial segments.
  • Partner with executive leadership to support enterprise growth initiatives and community impact.
Portfolio & Risk Oversight
  • Provide executive oversight of portfolio performance, credit quality, concentrations, and risk trends.
  • Partner closely with Credit Administration, Risk, and Finance to ensure prudent underwriting, monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex credits, portfolio risks, and strategic client relationships.
Client & Member Experience
  • Ensure a consistent, high‑quality experience for business and commercial members across all touchpoints.
  • Support relationship‑based banking by aligning sales, service, and portfolio management practices.
  • Represent the organization with key clients, community partners, and external stakeholders.
People Leadership & Performance
  • Lead, coach, and develop senior leaders within Corporate & Commercial Banking.
  • Establish clear expectations, performance metrics, and accountability across teams.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and leadership capability building.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Branch Banking, Lending, Credit Administration, Risk, Finance, and Operations to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Support new product development, system enhancements, and process improvements impacting commercial banking.
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in commercial or corporate banking, including senior leadership responsibility.
  • Strong background in portfolio management, relationship management, and credit oversight.
Skills & Competencies
  • Deep understanding of commercial banking, credit risk, and portfolio management.
  • Proven ability to lead senior teams and influence enterprise strategy.
  • Strong business acumen, judgment, and executive presence.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
