For our client, we are seeking a Chief Payments Officer to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will support financial discipline around P&L visibility, margin improvement, and business performance. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. The position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise performance and scalable financial operations within a regulated financial services environment.
Location:
San Francisco, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $252,000 – $378,000 annually
Responsibilities- Define and implement global payments network strategy across licensed markets
- Construct network architecture for payments collection and disbursement at scale
- Oversee and manage P&L for the payments network, focusing on commercial performance
- Lead the roadmap for next-generation payment capabilities including stable coins
- Build and maintain relationships with global financial institutions and regulators
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of 25 payments specialists across multiple regions
- Strengthen governance and compliance frameworks across all markets
- 15+ years of senior leadership experience in global payments networks
- Deep understanding of global payments infrastructure and regulatory frameworks
- Proven ability to manage complex institutional banking relationships
- Familiarity with stablecoin infrastructure and programmable payments
- Hands‑on experience in treasury risk management and FX strategies
- Background in fintech or regulated financial institutions
