Senior Underwriter – Agency Lending
PGIM Real Estate (PGIM RE) is one of the nation’s largest full‑service commercial real estate lenders. We are seeking a Senior Underwriter to join our Agency Lending business. The role is hybrid and can be based in any of the following locations:
Arlington, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas.
- Monitor and approve due‑diligence materials reviewed by underwriting staff.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and for credit and underwriting issues with the Agency.
- Train team members and mentor junior analysts.
- Complete review, analysis, and approval of loan submission due‑diligence materials.
- Review and provide commentary on third‑party reports.
- Finalize the underwriting narrative and model and/or provide direction to underwriting staff.
- Maintain ongoing communication on all aspects of the loan process with key stakeholders.
- Conduct independent site visits.
- Collaborate across the Underwriting team on portfolios and larger underwriting efforts.
- Present to the Investment/Loan Committee when necessary.
- Research and analyze market/submarket trends and fundamentals.
- Manage and mentor team analysts.
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 or more years of experience in commercial underwriting.
- Experience with Agency financing, specifically Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac, and general multifamily financing alternatives.
- Proficient in analysis of mortgage credit and borrower structures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proven management capability and experience mentoring and training junior team members.
- Excellent critical thinking and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to take ownership of loan transactions and manage workload with minimal supervision.
Base salary: $175,000 – $185,000 per year. Additional compensation and benefits available.
