Overview

Our Quantitative Finance & Economics team is part of the EY-Parthenon Corporate Finance practice. We advise clients on the economics and valuation of complex financial securities, applying sophisticated techniques in corporate finance, data & economic analysis, and financial engineering. Our work spans equities, fixed income, credit, derivatives, and structured products.

Key responsibilities
  • Advising clients on corporate finance and the valuation of complex financial instruments.
  • Conducting research on fixed‑income and equity markets and on individual companies.
  • Developing valuation models, including binomial lattice and Monte Carlo simulation models.
  • Using proprietary valuation models to value financial instruments and estimate market parameters for valuation models.
  • Analyzing financial instruments using data‑visualization tools, modern statistics, and machine‑learning techniques.
  • Presenting results and findings to the team and clients.
  • Analyzing and performing due diligence on credit and expected losses.
  • Working with clients to establish valuation processes and documentation.

Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree and at least one year of related work experience; or a graduate degree and at least one year of related work experience; or an advanced degree (master’s or Ph

    D.) in a quantitative discipline such as finance, mathematics, statistics, financial engineering, engineering, or economics.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis of financial instruments, including options, warrants, fixed‑income & hybrid securities, structured products and other derivatives.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages:
    Python, R, Matlab or VBA.
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters or Capital IQ is a plus.
  • Experience developing web‑based applications and working with large datasets is a plus.
  • Ability to work within a given budget and schedule, delivering high‑quality results in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in English, including listening, understanding, reading and communicating effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing multiple tasks, deadlines and project stakeholders.
  • A strong work ethic, strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment full of new challenges and ideas.
  • Reside in or be within commuting distance to the office location for this position.
  • Willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary; travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
Ideal qualifications
  • Achievement of or significant progress toward a CFA, FRM, PRM or ASA/AM designation is a plus, with an expectation of completion within a given timeframe.
  • Knowledge of how to leverage firm‑approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.
Benefits
  • Comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including base salary ranging from $113,100 to $186,700 in the U.S., with higher ranges for New York City, Washington State and California. Additional benefits include medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
