Senior Tax Manager
Our client, a high-growth technology company, is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to build and lead its tax function during an exciting period of expansion.
LocationSan Francisco, CA. The position is hybrid, with in‑office expectations 3 days/week. This position follows a hybrid work schedule.
Job DescriptionThis is a highly visible role that will partner closely with Finance, Legal, and external advisors to ensure effective tax compliance, planning, and strategy. The ideal candidate is both hands‑on and strategic, with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment while helping establish scalable processes for future growth.
Responsibilities- Lead corporate tax compliance activities, including federal, state, local, and indirect tax matters
- Oversee tax provision processes and coordinate tax filings with external advisors
- Support international expansion initiatives by evaluating tax implications of new entities, jurisdictions, and business activities
- Manage transfer pricing, intercompany matters, and other cross‑border tax considerations
- Coordinate tax audits, inquiries, and responses with regulatory authorities and external advisors
- Partner with Finance, Legal, HR, and other teams to provide guidance on tax implications of business decisions
- Develop and improve tax processes, controls, documentation, and reporting capabilities
- Evaluate opportunities to leverage technology and automation within the tax function
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required
- 7+ years of progressive tax experience, including public accounting and/or industry experience
- Strong experience with corporate income tax, tax provision, and indirect tax compliance
- Familiarity with international tax concepts and multi‑jurisdictional operations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally and independently in a high‑growth environment
