Capital Markets Associate – Transaction Execution

Octans Capital Group is an AI-native investment banking and capital markets advisory firm based in Silicon Valley. We advise growth companies across U.S. IPOs, capital raising, M&A, and post-listing capital markets, combining deep U.S. market expertise with strong cross-border capabilities.

We are building a new generation of capital markets platform where senior judgment, transaction execution, and AI-powered intelligence work together.

Octans Capital Group is seeking a Capital Markets Associate to join our team in Silicon Valley or Beijing, with a primary focus on the execution and coordination of U.S. IPO, M&A, and other strategic transactions.

This is a highly hands-on role working directly with senior leadership. The Associate will serve as a central execution point across transactions, coordinating clients and external professional teams including investment banks, securities counsel, auditors, financial advisors, and other transaction parties.

Rather than performing the role of any individual professional advisor, the Associate will help drive the overall transaction process on behalf of Octans — keeping work streams aligned, identifying key issues, following up on deliverables, and ensuring transactions move forward efficiently.

The role is expected to develop into a transaction team leadership position with responsibility for managing execution across multiple engagements.

• Coordinate and drive the overall execution process for U.S. IPOs, M&A, financings, and other strategic transactions
• Serve as a central point of coordination among clients, investment banks, securities counsel, auditors, and other professional advisors
• Develop and maintain transaction timelines, work plans, deliverable lists, and key action items
• Track transaction progress, proactively follow up with relevant parties, and escalate critical issues to senior leadership
• Review SEC filings, transaction documents, presentations, financial materials, and other key deliverables from a commercial and capital markets perspective
• Participate in transaction calls and meetings, document key decisions and action items, and ensure effective follow-through
• Conduct company, industry, valuation, capital markets, and transaction research as required
• Prepare briefing materials, transaction updates, analyses, and recommendations for senior leadership
• Work directly with senior leadership on transaction priorities, client matters, and execution strategy
• Take increasing responsibility for leading transaction work streams and coordinating junior team members as the team grows

This is a full-time position available in:

• Silicon Valley, California — hybrid working arrangement
• Beijing, China — on-site position with regular office attendance required

• Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university with an excellent academic record
• Prior full-time or internship experience at a leading investment bank, securities/corporate law firm, or other highly regarded professional services firm
• Experience with or strong exposure to U.S. IPOs, SEC filings, M&A, securities offerings, or public-company transactions is strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of U.S. capital markets and transaction processes
• Ability to quickly understand financial, legal, accounting, and commercial issues and communicate effectively across different professional teams
• Strong analytical and research capabilities; financial modeling and valuation skills are preferred
• Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese; both are working languages for this role
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple complex work streams simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to interact with senior executives and professional advisors
• Strong commitment, work ethic, responsiveness, and sense of ownership
• Highly proactive and execution-oriented, with the ability to anticipate issues rather than simply respond to assigned tasks
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with demanding transaction timelines
• Demonstrated leadership potential and the ability to take increasing ownership of transaction execution

Candidates with experience at a leading investment bank or securities law firm, particularly with direct exposure to U.S. capital markets transactions, will be strongly preferred.
