Tax Experienced Manager, Transfer Pricing
The Tax Experienced Manager, Transfer Pricing advises clients on transfer pricing implications related to business objectives, recommends alternative courses of action, and identifies methods to comply with transfer pricing regulations. The role includes marketing, networking and business development within the area of transfer pricing, and monitoring changes in tax policy to apply new rules to tax compliance.
OverviewJob Description – This position focuses on delivering transfer pricing services to clients, including research, compliance, controversy, documentation, and advisory work within the framework of applicable tax laws and guidelines.
Responsibilities- Research
:
Complete financial analyses related to intercompany transactions, evaluate industry and client data to help document appropriate intercompany pricing policies, and identify issues that require research. - Tax Compliance
:
Determine scope of transfer pricing projects, establish budgets and timelines, draft and present materials to prospective clients; administer economic analyses and final reports; ensure client compliance with transfer pricing requirements; propose year-end transfer pricing reviews as applicable; determine appropriate transfer pricing methods under IRS regulations and OECD guidelines; ensure engagement letters are adopted prior to work; review transfer pricing data to identify issues;
manage engagements to meet metrics; complete project planning and scheduling. - Tax Controversy
:
Represent clients before tax authorities on disputed issues with guidance from senior transfer pricing professionals. - Transfer Pricing Consulting and Documentation
:
Develop and implement transfer pricing methods, analyze client data under relevant regulations, assess new regulations, utilize internal and external resources as needed, identify opportunities for additional consulting services, and provide transfer pricing advice aligned with client goals. - Tax Provision and FIN 48
:
Apply transfer pricing concepts to tax provisions and FIN 48, review related provisions, and coordinate with Assurance on tax accrual reviews. - Practice, Staff and Business Development
:
Identify opportunities, deliver client presentations, prepare proposals and engagement letters, research transfer pricing topics, summarize developments, draft tax alerts, create presentation slides, prepare training materials, and participate in special projects to improve the practice. - Tax Related Software
:
Use tax research databases and related software; knowledge of statistical packages is preferred. - Other Duties
:
Perform additional duties as required. - Supervisory Responsibilities
:
Supervise day-to-day workloads, train staff on tax software, evaluate performance and assist in professional development, provide periodic feedback and formal evaluations, and act as Career Advisor where appropriate.
Skills and Abilities
- Education
:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field required; advanced degree preferred. - Experience
:
Six (6) or more years of transfer pricing experience; prior supervisory experience on projects or engagements; experience reviewing tax provisions from a transfer pricing perspective (preferred). - Software
:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with tax research databases and statistical software is beneficial. - Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication; strong analytical and research capabilities; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to multitask and work independently or in a team; ability to lead and develop a team; strong relationship-building with internal and client personnel; ability to network and develop business in transfer pricing; strong project management and research abilities.
Individual salaries offered are determined based on factors including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.
Compensation and LocationNational Range: $94,500 – $189,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $94,500 – $189,000
Washington DC Range: $94,500 – $189,000
