Job Description & How to Apply Below

Vouch is the insurance broker that powers ambition.

We’re a tech-enabled insurance advisory and brokerage purpose-built for growing companies in technology, life sciences, and professional services. Our clients are ambitious leaders building complex businesses, and we help them manage risk with tailored advice, smart coverage, and responsive service.

Why should you join our team and Vouch?

Not only is this an exciting and growing team where you can drive a real impact on our operational scalability, but Vouch is also the preferred insurance provider to customers of Y Combinator, Brex, Carta, and WeWork. We’re a quickly growing startup that believes in transparency and acknowledgment with our team members and cultivating a values-driven company. Our values are "Be Client Obsessed", "Own it together", "Act with integrity and empathy", "Stay Curious and Grow", and "Empower People".

What

does a work environment look like at Vouch?

Vouch has employees located across the U.S., with offices in San Francisco, Chicago, and New York City. While this role has hybrid work flexibility, we require team members to be in the office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) to foster close collaboration and team building.

Why this role matters:

This role produces the reporting Vouch runs on — budget vs. actual analysis, headcount tracking, monthly close deliverables, and partnership payout management. You'll also help shape our cost-to-serve and LTV methodology, work that directly informs how leadership thinks about unit economics. The financial reporting you build reaches both internal executive leadership and high-stakes external audiences, including our Board of Directors.

You’ll report directly to the Head of Finance on a small team, giving you real ownership over your work and direct exposure to leadership from day one.

What You'll Do:
  • Own headcount tracking and budget vs. actual reporting
  • Produce monthly / quarterly / annual reporting for internal management, the Board of Directors, investors and other applicable 3rd parties.
  • Support the annual budget build and ongoing forecast updates, including the targets that support business operations decisions.
  • Support monthly close deliverables — accrual calculations / analysis and vendor coding questions.
  • Calculate and process monthly partnerships payouts
  • Contribute to cost-to-serve and LTV methodology and calculations
  • Deliver weekly budget vs. actual readouts to the business
  • Meet with business partners across the company to explain their monthly results and translate what you learn from the meetings into forecast updates
About You:
  • You look at an actual vs. budget variance and can pinpoint where something looks off — even when you don't yet know the driver
  • You're comfortable owning basic accrual accounting and the analysis behind it
  • You've helped build a bottoms-up opex budget and understand how it comes together, not just how to maintain it
  • You're comfortable owning the analysis and reading it out to business partners yourself, not just handing over the file
  • You communicate financial results clearly to non-finance audiences
  • You're comfortable in a fast-moving environment where the reporting categories themselves can change
  • You have 4+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or an accounting role requiring transactional analysis.
Nice To Have:
  • Exposure to and passion for early-stage startups and/or high-growth environments
  • A background in insurance or other regulated categories
