Bridge Bio is establishing a dedicated leadership role to build and lead the company’s state government affairs function. As part of the Government Affairs team, the Director, State Government Affairs will develop and drive a comprehensive state engagement strategy, drawing on established networks and building strategic relationships with state policymakers and stakeholders. The Director, State Government Affairs will lead Bridge Bio’s engagement on state health policies, including Medicaid coverage, diagnosis, and access frameworks, positioning the company to anticipate and influence evolving state reimbursement environments.
This leader will monitor, assess, and anticipate evolving state policy landscapes, translating complex policy developments into clear, actionable business implications for executive leadership and cross‑functional partners.
- Develop and drive a proactive, multi‑state strategy across priority states, aligned with enterprise priorities, portfolio objectives, and commercial planning.
- Identify, assess, and influence state legislation, regulations, and executive actions impacting pricing, reimbursement, Medicaid, PBM reform, 340B, newborn screening, rare disease access, and innovation policy.
- Anticipate state political, legislative, and regulatory trends, translating complex developments into clear business risks, opportunities, and recommended actions for executive leadership.
- Lead coordinated advocacy campaigns in priority states, integrating direct lobbying, state trade association engagement, and coalition strategy to shape outcomes before they materially affect the business.
- Maintain disciplined oversight of all state lobbying and political compliance processes, ensuring all activity meets reporting requirements and that advocacy activities adhere to applicable state ethics and disclosure laws.
- Leverage established relationships and strategically build Bridge Bio’s engagement with governors’ offices, state legislators and regulators, Medicaid and insurance leaders, and key staff to advance the company’s state policy priorities.
Represent Bridge Bio in state coalitions, and industry forums, serving as a credible and persuasive voice for the company’s positions.
- Lead engagement within state trade associations and coalitions, consultants, driving aligned action on priority issues while protecting Bridge Bio’s independent strategy.
This role is responsible for executing and advancing Bridge Bio’s enterprise policy positions at the state level, in close coordination with the Head of Public Policy and Federal Government Affairs.
Partner with key internal stakeholders including Commercial, Market Access and Patient Advocacy to integrate state policy strategy into coverage, reimbursement, and patient access planning, ensuring advocacy efforts directly support portfolio objectives and patient access across priority states.
