This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
As a Health Insurance Specialist (Program Policy), GS-0107-12, you will perform program policy work related to national health insurance programs, such as Medicare, Medicaid, the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), Marketplace Exchange/private health insurance.

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
- Analyzing national health insurance program policy issues in order to make policy recommendations;
- Refining regulations, manuals, program guidelines, program memoranda, policy letters, or instructions to communicate health insurance program policies;
- Presenting findings or recommendations based on analysis of health insurance programs.

Experience refers to both paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
