Positions are located throughout DPH including:

- Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital & Trauma Center – Outpatient Pharmacy
- Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital & Trauma Center – Purchasing Pharmacy
- Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital & Trauma Center – 340B Program Coordinator
- San Francisco County Jails
- Community Behavioral Health Services
- Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center
- Various clinics and health centers throughout the city and county
- Review, process, compound, prepare, label, and dispense medication orders and prescriptions.
- Monitor drug therapy for appropriateness, contraindications, interactions, adverse effects, and therapeutic/toxic dosing.
- Communicate drug information and provide medication counseling to patients and health‑care personnel.
- Conduct quality assurance through drug‑use evaluations and medication area inspections.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise support personnel as required.
- Inpatient Pharmacy (ZSFG): Prepare IV admixtures and chemotherapy; manage unresolved medication issues; provide therapeutic drug monitoring; prioritize daily workflow.
- Jail Health Positions: Act as Pharmacist‑in‑Charge of the facility pharmacy ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations.
- Behavioral Health Services: Dispense mental‑health and substance‑use prescriptions; navigate insurance and formulary; support client medication counseling.
- Laguna Honda Hospital: Dispense geriatric prescriptions; prepare extemporaneous products; conduct monthly chart reviews and medication area inspections.
- Valid Registered Pharmacist license issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy (current status).
- Minimum experience:
6 months in inpatient pharmacy (within last five years) or 1 year in pharmacy informatics (within last three years) depending on position. - Optional:
Bilingual fluency, security clearance with the San Francisco Sheriff’s Department, 340B experience, and Epic certification where applicable.
