The OpportunityAs a Phlebotomist/Administrative Assistant at one of our offices, you’ll provide an exceptional experience for patients, performing venipuncture and other clinical support services. You are the first point of contact and the steward of the space, ensuring the office lobby reflects the One Medical brand. You’ll also support the Practice Coordinator, Operations Manager, or providers with requested tasks.
What You’ll Likely Work On- Use impeccable C‑I‑CARE in all patient interactions, ensuring a fluid and positive in‑office experience through patient intake, same‑day scheduling, billing, insurance, and patient feedback.
- Provide best‑in‑class venipuncture services for adults and pediatrics, depending on the office location.
- Perform and assist with extended scope duties such as non‑blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs.
- Maintain high standards of in‑office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization.
- Support members beyond the lab by answering messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers and the virtual medical team with clerical duties such as biometric screening, medical record review, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting.
- Perform front‑of‑house duties: check‑in/check‑out, insurance verification, printing/paperwork tasks, test prep, and meeting service level expectations.
- Contribute to team development through rounding, huddles, problem solving, and supporting providers with ad‑hoc asks.
- Perform opening and closing duties and daily office upkeep, including maintaining the look and feel of patient and employee spaces, restocking supplies, and organization.
- Master our technology suite—including Slack, G‑suite, Zoom, Circulation, Ring Central, and the Electronic Medical Record System—to interact with team members and complete daily work.

What You’ll Need- At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment.
- An active phlebotomy certification to practice in California.
- Strong customer service skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and deliver customer‑centric solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in computer technology such as typing, internet navigation, and multi‑software use.
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi‑disciplinary teams (remote team experience a plus).
- A proven ability to instill confidence and trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human‑centered care.
- Persisting through change, stepping up to take action on challenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced with new situations or tasks.
