Position SummaryAs an Adaptive Skills Tutor
, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to build independence, self-advocacy, and adaptive life skills. You’ll work with clients in both home and community settings
, helping them develop skills for daily living, employment readiness, and personal growth. This is not a traditional 9-to-5 position
. Shifts vary depending on client schedules and needs and may include daytime, evening, or weekend hours
.

- Provide one-on-one adaptive skills support and behaviour intervention in home and community settings.
- Collaborate with the treatment team, caregivers, and clinical supervisors to implement individualized goals.
- Teach and model behavioural, social, and daily living skills to foster independence.
- Assist clients with personal care, meal preparation, transportation, and community participation.
- Support clients in vocational, volunteer, and recreational activities that align with their personal interests.
- Document sessions accurately and communicate progress to the clinical team.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
- Transport clients safely using a personal vehicle when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Counseling, Rehabilitation, or related human services field.
- RBT certification preferred; must be willing to obtain within 30 days of hire

, and be comfortable driving clients
. - Willing and able to travel up to 50 miles from home or assigned location.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks, CPR certification, and trainings.
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities strongly preferred.
