Clinical Research, Research Scientist
Position Description
The Department of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) seeks a Specialist to join the Quality and Informatics Laboratory (quil.ucsf.edu) located at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG). The laboratory brings together multiple clinical research investigators who are conducting health services research and epidemiological studies designed to improve the quality, accessibility, usability, and actionability of healthcare data and provides a common infrastructure to increase the efficiency of clinical outcomes research and speed implementation of evidence‑based practices.
The clinical research portfolio includes over $1 million dollars annually in grants funded by the National Institutes of Health, Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and private foundations.
Applicants must have a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or at least ten or more years of experience in the relevant specialization. Applicants must also have significant research experience, including qualitative research study design, analysis, scientific presenting, and manuscript presentation. The Specialist will be expected to independently develop, organize, and lead qualitative research studies. The appointee will also manage large research programs, including supervising clinical research coordinators and trainees.
The Specialist supervises two or more employees and is responsible for full oversight for staffing, performance management, and daily operations. Excellent organizational skills and clear oral and written communication are essential.
