Job Summary

Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Provides direction to staff according to established policies and management guidance. Organizes and directs research analysis activities and studies and serves as an advisor to research professionals. Provides priority setting and workflow analysis.

We are seeking a full-time Data Analysis Supervisor to become an integral part of our team. We offer a positive environment with dedicated colleagues in the Department of Neurology  Data Analysis Supervisor will support epidemiological studies aimed at identifying risk and protective factors related to and/or the development of treatments for Parkinson’s disease.

The Data Analysis Supervisor will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI). The Data Analysis Supervisor will work collaboratively with the PI and research staff, and meets on a weekly basis to ensure research objectives are met.

Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight, training and support in statistical and data-related principles to other employees.
  • Develop data management and analytic plans.
  • Design relational databases and dynamic reporting systems to oversee study progress.
  • Develop and implement data quality control plans and measures.
  • Integrate and organize study data from various platforms and develop data dictionaries.
  • Oversee/supervise and/or conduct primary statistical analyses, including multivariate and longitudinal data analyses.
  • Develop reporting tools to present complex data to lay and scientific audiences.
  • Provide support in the development of academic products such as abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Must be able to multi-task and problem-solve.
  • The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification  positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

    The salary range for this position is $98,300 - $150,000 (Annual Rate).

    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in related area and minimum five years experience including three in a lead/supervisory role or equivalent experience / training.
    • Broad knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with the design and implementation of data collection and data reporting systems.
    • Strong knowledge of biostatistical methods.
    • Must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and administrative skills. Strong and effective communication skills to communicate complicated information in a clear and concise manner.
    • Proficiency in statistics, data analysis, research methods and statistical packages such as SPSS, SAS, and/or R, Python, or a related package.
    • Experience in relational database and/or event tracking database design, development and maintenance.
    • Proficiency in applications such as MS Excel and PowerPoint for presenting summary reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids.
