PROGRAM SUMMARY

Health

RIGHT 360, a nonprofit organization and a family of programs, is committed to providing accessible and comprehensive healthcare services to vulnerable populations. Our mission is to tackle systemic barriers to healthcare and promote health equity for all. We offer a wide range of services, including mental health care, residential and outpatient substance use treatment, and primary health services. Additionally, we provide transitional support for individuals re-entering the community after involvement in the criminal justice system.

By integrating physical and behavioral health, we empower individuals to overcome challenges by addressing social determinants of health, fostering resilience, and facilitating recovery.

SOMA RISE is a 24/7 sobering center for adult individuals who may be experiencing a substance use related crisis or need a safe place to calm down. SOMA RISE offers a welcoming, compassionate, trauma-informed, culturally attuned, and user-responsive space that focuses on the principles of harm reduction and radical hospitality. Our emphasis is on supporting people at increased risk of substance use-related high-risk behaviors and trauma, homelessness, and death due to overdose.

The team works to engage participants and to make appropriate referrals for health, housing, SUD treatment, etc. Priority will be given to clients’ safety, and all staff will be trained in Overdose Prevention, Recognition, Response and Narcan Administration.

The Ambassador Outreach Worker (AOW) in SOMA Rise acts as both ambassadors to the community and provide street outreach to the surrounding neighborhood of the SOMA RISE Center. As ambassadors, the AOW provides information about the SOMA RISE program and acts as a liaison to the community, and, as Outreach Workers, the AOW provides direct referrals for potential participants from the community and on the streets for individuals who may benefit from our services.

As part of a collaborative team, along with Health Workers, Safety Monitors and Supervisors, the Ambassador Outreach Worker will support the work of the Center by ensuring that we are taking all reasonable steps to ensure that our neighbors (both residents and unhoused individuals) feel safe and understand the mission of our program and how it serves the community.

The Ambassador Outreach Worker must be able to effectively communicate with the public regarding the purpose of the SOMA RISE Program, whom it serves, what services that we provide at the center, how to have an individual referred to the program and how the whole community is a beneficiary of this program. The Ambassador Outreach Worker will model and demonstrate COVID transmission safety prevention behaviors, wearing appropriate PPE and practicing physical distancing, while they encounter the public in the community surrounding the SOMA RISE center.

The Ambassador Outreach Worker will be required to complete minimal documentation, regarding encounters and referrals to the center, as well as assisting in connecting our participants to ongoing services and support, and others as they arise.

The Ambassador Outreach Worker will be deployed as a team of two on a Part-Time basis, for 4 hours a day, five days a week. May be required to work evenings and weekends.

Hours for this position are:

  • Sun-Thu 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
  • Tue-Sat rotating
