Position: Staff Research Associate

Overview

The Staff Research Associate I position in the area of cardiothoracic imaging lab is available within the UCSF Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging. Under direct supervision and guidance from the supervisor, the successful candidate will perform management of a cardiothoracic imaging and radiological reporting laboratory and help lab personnel for imaging.

Note:

This is a limited role with an end date 1 year from the start date.

  • Manage a cardiothoracic imaging and radiological reporting laboratory and assist lab personnel with imaging.
Salary and Benefits

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on factors including work experience and internal equity within this position classification  positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $26.00 - $31.04 (Hourly Rate).

Department Description

The Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging at UCSF combines clinical excellence, trailblazing research, and outstanding education in a leading academic health sciences institution. Our faculty includes some of the foremost names in diagnostic and interventional radiology today. The Department provides state-of-the-art clinical imaging for patients and conducts world-class scientific research to develop the next generation of clinical imaging tools and techniques to fight cancer and other life-threatening medical conditions globally.

Required Qualifications

BA/BS biology, chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, applied physics, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, computer science or in a related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous exposure to research laboratory environment.
  • Experience in imaging science research
  • Ability to analyze imaging data
  • Ability to work with diverse team of researchers, scientists, and students
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative
  • Demonstrated record of reliability and excellent attendance
