Job SummaryManages advanced practice operations in a specific patient care area. Oversees clinical care provided by advanced practice providers (APP) and ensures compliance with organizational and regulatory agency standards. Provides clinical leadership for a team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) within the infusion service line. Manages Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) responsible for patient evaluation, testing, diagnosis, plans of care, and treatment within the infusion centers at Mission Bay, Mt.
Zion, the Weill Infusion Center. As a manager, receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the processes by which to attain them. 15-20% of the role will require clinical work in the infusion centers. This role collaborates with the leads for the APP fellowship program in adult cancer services working in collaboration with the Office of Advanced Practice and the office of Nursing Excellence.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $217,600 - $326,400 (Annual Rate).

Department DescriptionThe UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Center in an accredited National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center. The NCI-Designation recognizes the scientific leadership, resources, and the depth and breadth of the research in basic, clinical and population science. The Adult Infusion Centers n and Mission Bay service the Medical Oncology population at UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center as well as any non-oncology infusion needs of patients treatments include but are not limited to chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, blood transfusions, hydration and electrolyte therapy, injections and blood draws, enzymes and iron infusions, and antibiotics.
The centers collectively consist of over 100 chairs/beds and treatments include research and standard of care infusions. The infusion centers are staffed by Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Medical Assistants, and Practice Coordinators. This position directs Advanced Practice Providers across campuses.

To improve access to service in the community and remain competitive in the Bay Area regional marketplace, UCSF Cancer Infusion Services is expanding into both affiliate and satellite locations which will entail different models of activation and oversite.
This position plays a leadership role in ensuring alignment with clinical services and workflows so there is consistency across the cancer enterprise.
Five (5) years of Advanced Practice Provider (APP) experience with demonstrated leadership experience.
Demonstrated Leadership Experience
Leadership experience may be met through one of the following pathways:
Three (3) years of related leadership experience, or
Current NP III at UCSF, or
Holds an NP III title, or is an NP II or Senior PA with progressive leadership experience in at least five (5) of the areas listed below.
Progressive Leadership Areas (minimum of five(5) required)
Participates in the development, review, and revision of policies and Standardized Procedures relevant to the clinical environment.
Engages in clinical, quality, and/or process improvement initiatives, including one or more of the following:
Precepts and mentors new APPs and/or APP students
Functions as a clinical resource to other clinicians
Participates in in-service education and outreach programs
Active involvement in professional practice, including:
Membership in a professional practice organization relevant to specialty or practice
Active participation in at least one unit-based or hospital-wide committee
Presentation at regional, national, or international meetings on clinical topics relevant to practice.
Scholarly contributions, including authorship, abstract submission, and/or publication of written materials such as:
Book chapters
Editorial or opinion pieces
Journal articles
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex clinical information clearly and concisely.
