The Post Room Bartender is responsible for delivering a refined, engaging bar experience that reflects the Beacon Grand’s historic, boutique luxury standard. This role combines classic bartending craft with elevated, anticipatory service for both restaurant guests and event clientele, ensuring consistently exceptional beverage quality, presentation, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the bar is impeccably set and fully stocked at the start of each shift, including beer, wine, spirits, mixers, paper goods, straws/stirrers, condiments, and fresh produce, based on daily forecasts and event schedules.
- Prepare, label, and properly store all fresh garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to maintain premium product quality and consistency.
- Welcome guests warmly and professionally; guide them through beverage offerings, take and record orders accurately, and craft cocktails to brand standards with precise recipes and portion control.
- Maintain current alcohol service certification (e.g., TIPS or equivalent) and adhere strictly to responsible service policies.
- Uphold the highest sanitation and cleanliness standards at the bar and surrounding areas, following health and safety protocols at all times.
- Review and interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and daily function sheets to anticipate start times, guest counts, and beverage requirements; stage bar setups accordingly.
- Post‑event, break down bars efficiently; return inventory, equipment, and glassware to designated storage and reconcile any transfers per policy.
- Collaborate seamlessly with the restaurant and banquet teams to deliver timely, refined service during peak periods and events.
- Communicate promptly with the F&B Manager regarding guest feedback, special requests, inventory variances, or operational challenges.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper equipment handling, glassware care, and spill prevention.
- Consistently exhibit a polished, gracious demeanor and a service‑first mindset with guests, colleagues, and leadership, reflecting the standards of a luxury hotel environment.
- 2+ years of bartending experience in an upscale or luxury hotel/restaurant bar; banquet bar experience a plus.
- Extensive classic and contemporary cocktail knowledge; confident with spirit profiles, wine service, and beer styles.
- Current alcohol service certification (TIPS, Serv Safe Alcohol, or state equivalent); food handler certification preferred.
