Job Description

The Recreation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all recreational operations at Lake Quinault Lodge, including watercraft rentals (kayaks, paddle boards, canoes) and guided tours (boat tours and bus tours of Olympic National Forest and Park). This role ensures safe, enjoyable, and memorable experiences for guests while managing a team of recreation workers and tour guides. The ideal candidate is highly organized, safety-conscious, and passionate about outdoor adventure and guest service.

This is a seasonal position.

COMPENSATION:
The hourly rate for this position is $20 - $20. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily recreation operations, including watercraft rentals and guided tours.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate recreation staff and tour guides to maintain high standards of safety and service.
  • Develop and implement engaging recreational programs and tour itineraries that showcase the beauty of Olympic National Forest and Park.
  • Monitor equipment and facilities for safety and cleanliness; ensure proper storage and maintenance of kayaks, paddle boards, canoes, and tour vehicles.
  • Promote guest participation in recreational activities and provide detailed information about local attractions and safety guidelines.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries, feedback, and emergencies, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of rentals, tours, and staff schedules; prepare reports as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other lodge departments to coordinate guest services and special events.
  • Manage inventory of recreation supplies and equipment; order replacements as necessary.

Qualifications

Previous experience in recreation management or hospitality leadership preferred.

Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate seasonal staff.

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge of outdoor recreation safety standards and local environmental regulations.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

CPR/First Aid certification required; boating safety certification preferred.

Wilderness First Aid Certification required.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
