Legal Recruiting Manager

A prominent global law firm with offices across major business and financial centers in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East is seeking an experienced Attorney Recruiting Manager to support its Bay Area offices.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Attorney Recruiting for the West Coast and Central Region, this individual will oversee all non-partner attorney hiring efforts, including campus recruiting, lateral associate recruitment, and management of the summer associate program.

This position may be based in either San Francisco or Silicon Valley and follows a hybrid work schedule.

The Attorney Recruiting Manager will play a strategic and operational leadership role in shaping and executing attorney hiring initiatives. This individual will collaborate closely with hiring partners, recruiting committees, and firm leadership to attract top-tier legal talent and ensure a seamless candidate experience.

• Develop and execute strategic recruiting plans in partnership with hiring partners and local recruiting committees
• Strengthen the firm’s presence and brand visibility at targeted and regional law schools
• Build and maintain strong relationships with law school career services offices and legal search firms
• Lead and mentor the local recruiting team, ensuring efficient operations and high performance
• Manage all aspects of the interview lifecycle for both law students and lateral candidates, including scheduling, communications, tracking, and database oversight
• Direct the 1L and 2L recruiting process, including registration, callback coordination, offers, and follow-up communications
• Oversee the planning and execution of the summer associate program, including training, assignments, events, and performance evaluations
• Collaborate with recruiting colleagues across offices to ensure consistency in processes and share best practices
• Partner with practice group leadership to assess and plan for lateral hiring needs
• Oversee offer preparation, onboarding, and integration for lateral associates
• Monitor recruiting market trends and proactively source lateral candidates
• Support broader strategic initiatives in collaboration with senior talent leadership
• Ensure adherence to firm hiring policies and affirmative action guidelines
• Manage and track the recruiting budget for the assigned offices

• Minimum of five years of law firm recruiting or campus recruiting experience
• Proven success managing comprehensive campus recruiting programs
• Ability to travel periodically and work flexible hours during peak recruiting cycles
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Experience with applicant tracking systems such as ViRecruit, Symplicity, or Workday preferred
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong client-service mindset with the ability to engage effectively with attorneys, candidates, and external partners
• High level of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
• Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
