This position is for a Traditional Labor Law Associate in the San Francisco, CA office.
The salary range for this California position is $222,500 – $244,500 per year, reflective of experience, education, licensure and market factors.
Duties and Responsibilities- Represent employers in traditional labor matters, providing advice and counsel on federal and California workplace laws and other assignments. Occasionally involve due diligence of employer operations for workplace law issues in mergers and acquisitions.
- Handle all facets of Traditional Labor Relations, including:
- Unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board ("NLRB")
- Researching and writing
- Representing management in NLRB elections
- Providing legal advice on union organizing, corporate campaigns, card‑check and neutrality agreements
- Negotiating or advising on collective bargaining agreements
- Handling grievance, arbitration, and unfair labor practice proceedings
- Obtaining mass picketing injunctions
- Advise employers on federal and California wage and hour issues, leave management, disability accommodations, and other workplace issues.
- Review handbooks, policies and forms for compliance with federal and state law.
- Review compensation, commission and bonus plans.
- Conduct management training on labor relations and workplace issues, including harassment, discrimination and retaliation.
- Other duties as reasonably assigned.
- JD from ABA‑accredited law school
- 4-6 years experience in litigation or advice work as an attorney
- Traditional labor experience preferred
- Federal and/or California advice and counsel work preferred
- California Bar admission
- Understanding of current agency enforcement techniques preferred
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational and project‑management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred but not required
- Will require regular business travel
