Responsibilities- Facilitates and is accountable for leading the team through the agile ceremonies, including:
Daily scrums, Sprint Planning, PI Planning, Sprint demos, Retrospectives, Backlog Grooming, and Sprint Planning. - Guides the team to follow Agile/Scrum practices and daily activities to actively promote prioritization, team readiness, and commitment for each Sprint and Program Increment.
- Coaches the team to address issues with the Agile/Scrum process and instills an "Inspect & Adapt" culture within the team.
- Proactively removes impediments to team agility and guides the team on escalation when needed to prevent challenges from becoming blockers.
- Protects the team from disturbances and conflicting priorities.
- Manages team workload and, when needed, communicates with managers or Product Management to negotiate time.
- Manages dependencies across other Agile teams, collaborating with other Scrum Masters and the Program Manager/RTE.
- Works closely with the Product Owner, Product Analysts, and Solutions Lead to ensure sprints are healthy and work is effectively delivered by the team.
- Owns the Jira project and manages all issues in Jira for the team; uses Jira metrics (burnup/burndown, release burndowns, team velocity) to assess health and identify improvement opportunities.
- Uses Jira to track team and team-members' capacity based on tangible metrics.
- 1 year minimum experience as a Scrum Master in an IT or software development setting
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience
- Proficiency using Jira (managing scrum boards and generating metrics)
- Demonstrated ability to coach individuals in a scrum team
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills for explaining technical and project-related information to stakeholders
- Proven ability to balance competing priorities
- PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent certification required
