Am Law 100 firm in San Francisco is searching for an IT Trainer to support their local office. The IT Trainer designs and delivers e-learning programs for attorneys and administrative staff to drive adoption of firm technology. The role leads the strategy, development, and ongoing management of virtual training, partnering with IT and business stakeholders to translate change management needs into effective learning solutions.
This includes selecting and producing training technologies, developing course content, and maintaining programs within the Firm’s LMS.
A strong blend of technical expertise, clear communication, and user-focused design enables the Trainer to deliver high-quality, scalable learning experiences.
Knowledge & Experience- 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably within a large law firm, professional services environment, or legal information services organization.
- Hands‑on experience designing, developing, and administering e‑learning programs using a Learning Management System (LMS), with a strong grounding in adult learning principles.
- Proficiency with e‑learning development tools and technologies, including HTML, audio/video editing software, and emerging digital learning platforms.
- Solid understanding of accessibility standards and experience creating compliant, inclusive training content.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment while working independently and collaboratively on technical projects.
- Strong communication and service orientation, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences and partner effectively with end users, vendors, and stakeholders across the firm.
- Researches, designs, and implements e‑learning solutions using current and emerging technologies to support end‑user training on firm technology.
- Partners with IT leadership, functional teams, and SMEs to design and deliver training programs for attorneys and staff across regional offices, including support for change‑management initiatives.
- Leads the planning, design, and development of e‑learning curricula, gathering requirements, creating implementation plans, and producing high‑quality learning materials.
- Manages the deployment and administration of learning programs within the Firm’s LMS, including course uploads, learner assignments, communications, reporting, and optimization of delivery strategies.
- Measures training effectiveness and adoption using LMS reporting and performance metrics, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Collaborates with and manages e‑learning vendors, including technology adaptation, content compatibility, contract support, and acting as liaison between vendors and internal stakeholders, while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.
- College degree is preferred, ideally in instructional technology, education, computer science, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
- Appropriate technical certification(s) and/or advanced learning are preferred (e.g., adult education, multimedia training materials.
- Based in San Francisco, CA.
- 9:00 am – 5:30pm, Monday – Friday; hybrid in‑office, which will be a combination of onsite and remote work
