About Blockit
Time is the the most valuable resource we have, yet coordinating it remains stuck in the dark ages. At Blockit, we're building the AI that finally fixes this: an autonomous time agent that handles the full complexity of scheduling—timezones, group coordination, in-person logistics—like an executive assistant that never sleeps.
While every LLM application to date has been a one‑on‑one conversation, Blockit is one of the first multiplayer, stateful AI agents—coordinating between multiple people, maintaining context across conversations, and taking real actions in the world. As more people connect their calendars, our network becomes exponentially more powerful.
This is the foundation of a platform of AI agents with access to the world's time. We're backed by Sequoia, and we're a small, sharp team that moves fast, ships constantly, and holds a high bar. If you want to build something genuinely new, we'd love to talk.

The roleYou'll make sure Blockit is fast, reliable, and ready to scale.
This means owning our core infrastructure: databases, async job processing, observability, and the systems that power our AI agents (including our LLM gateway). You'll architect solutions as we grow—whether that's introducing new systems or something else entirely. You'll also be the point person on reliability, performance, and making sure our systems stay healthy as usage scales.
This role is ideal if you care deeply about how things actually run in production and want to build the foundation for a platform that coordinates millions of calendars.
What you’ll doOwn, operate, and evolve our core infrastructure:
Postgre
SQL, Clickhouse, and async processing pipelinesDesign, manage, and optimize our LLM infrastructure—including the LLM gateway, evaluation pipelines, and observability stack to ensure reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
Build robust monitoring, alerting, and dashboards to surface issues at the right time
Architect and implement new infrastructure as we scale (e.g., Redis, Kafka, or similar systems), making pragmatic tradeoffs along the way
Improve deployment pipelines and developer experience to keep shipping fast and safely
4+ years of software engineering experience, with focus on backend or infrastructure
Strong with Database technology, — being able diagnose inefficiencies and address potential bottlenecks
Experience running production services: monitoring, alerting, debugging incidents
Familiarity with job queues, async processing, or event-driven systems
You've dealt with scaling problems and made systems more reliable
Experience with Docker, AWS/GCP, or infrastructure-as-code is a plus
