Schedule: Monday - Friday

Location: Onsite Frisco, Texas

Comp: Target base salary of $123,000 – $127,000

Your Daily Impact

In this role, you will take full ownership of our documentation lifecycle, creating and refining everything from backend system architecture descriptions and API references to user-facing manuals and SDK guides. You won’t just be writing; you’ll be a cross-functional partner working alongside Engineering, QA, and Product teams to ensure our technical library mirrors our latest releases and technical shifts. You will also be the architect of our knowledge sharing culture, designing scalable processes to capture insights from subject matter experts and project retrospectives.

The

Documentation Ecosystem

A significant part of your responsibility involves maintaining the integrity of our information frameworks. This includes establishing organizational standards for taxonomy, versioning, and templates within SharePoint or similar CMS platforms. You will manage stakeholder feedback loops and analyze content performance to ensure our resources are easily discoverable and highly effective. Beyond the technical specs, you will curate internal knowledge bases and e-learning content to streamline employee onboarding and support ongoing workshop initiatives.

Itemized

Responsibilities
  • Manage Asset Lifecycle: Author and maintain high-utility resources including API references, SDK guides, and system architecture blueprints.
  • Bridge Communication Gaps: Partner with engineering, product, and QA teams to translate backend logic into clear guidance for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Standardize Frameworks: Establish organizational taxonomies and versioning standards within SharePoint or similar CMS platforms.
  • Institutionalize Knowledge: Develop repeatable processes for extracting critical technical insights from SMEs and project retrospectives.
  • Enable Growth: Design and curate internal learning modules and self-service portals to accelerate staff onboarding and training.
  • Audit for Quality: Facilitate feedback loops and use content analytics to continuously refine the accuracy and discoverability of existing assets.
Direct Key Challenges
  • Technical Complexity: You will be expected to master the intricacies of core insurance platforms—such as Guidewire or Duck Creek—and explain their workflows (claims, billing, and policy issuance) to varied audiences.
  • Information Silos: A primary hurdle will be standardizing documentation across multiple disconnected departments to create a single, unified "source of truth."
  • Rapid Release Cycles: You must stay synchronized with fast-moving Agile/Scrum teams to ensure that documentation evolves in real-time alongside product updates.
What We’re Looking For
  • Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Information Systems, Communications, English) paired with 7–10 years of leadership in technical writing or knowledge management.
  • Technical Literacy: Candidates must demonstrate familiarity with technical literacy that includes but is not limited to cloud-native architectures (Azure preferred), structured data, and APIs.
  • Industry Context: Proven experience working within technology-driven insurance organizations is highly preferred.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to mentor junior team members and influence cross-functional stakeholders on the value of clear information governance.
Supervisory Accountability & Details
  • Direct Team Management: You will serve as the primary supervisor for our technical writing staff, taking direct responsibility for their professional development, performance evaluations, and daily output quality.
  • Editorial Oversight: You are tasked with leading the peer-review process, providing critical feedback to ensure every piece of content produced by the team adheres to enterprise standards and technical accuracy.
