The San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) is expanding its Technology Services Division and seeking experienced professionals to support mission-critical public safety systems. This recruitment supports multiple technical classifications within a single technology team focused on application development, business systems, and cybersecurity.

• Business Analyst – Oracle APEX (Public Safety Focus)
• Information Security Officer

These roles collaborate closely to design, build, secure, and maintain systems that directly support emergency response operations for one of the nation’s leading fire departments.

• Partner with public safety stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into functional technology solutions
• Design, develop, and maintain Oracle APEX applications and backend services using Python, SQL, and PL/SQL
• Build dashboards, reports, workflows, and user interfaces for operational and leadership decision-making
• Conduct UAT, performance optimization, and secure system integrations
• Lead information risk management and cybersecurity programs aligned with City and County of San Francisco policies
• Protect sensitive public safety data and ensure compliance with security standards

• Experience supporting a 24/7 operation organization or public-sector technology environment
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Technical expertise in one or more of the following areas:
  Oracle APEX, Python, SQL/PL/SQL, data visualization, RESTful APIs, application security, cybersecurity governance
• Understanding of data security and compliance in regulated or public safety environments

• SFFD is a 24/7 public safety agency; these roles are on-site and subject to call-out
• Positions are covered under an MOU and are eligible for call-out and stand-by pay
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Positions are open until filled and may close at any time
