The Desktop Support Specialist will have the primary responsibility for providing support to end-users on a variety of IT issues, in an effective and timely manner. The Desktop Support Specialist will be the first point of contact for IT support in their office, as well as support other Cornerstone offices as needed. A successful candidate for this role must be able to communicate and interact with both technical and on-technical users.

• Provide excellent local support to end-users and firm-wide during a daily mailbox shift.
• Track problems from the beginning through resolution for all tickets received during mailbox shift or as assigned.
• Promptly, completely, and accurately adopt all documented procedures and workflows.
• Provide knowledgeable, service-oriented support and resolve problems to end user satisfaction.
• Perform meeting set-ups, including video conferences with other offices and clients, and provide technical support for meetings.
• Provide on-call support for weekends in rotation.
• Assist with full disk encryption for laptops and desktops, archive restores, RSA setups and troubleshooting, password resets, and hardware repair coordination.

• 3+ years of relevant experience that demonstrates increasing capability and responsibility; professional services experience preferred
• Excellent HW troubleshooting and diagnosis skills
• Expertise in supporting Windows 7 in large scale enterprise Windows Active Directory Environment
• Proficient knowledge of CLI, VPN and wireless technologies
• Proficient knowledge of LAN/WAN networking technologies
• Ability to thoroughly follow SOP, checklists, and other instructions
• Working knowledge of:
  Windows 10 and Office 2010/2016
• Excellent knowledge of conference room equipment and support
• The desire to take initiative and actively contribute to the team and the firm
• The ability to communicate effectively and professionally
• Strong business acumen and the ability to learn the firm’s financial and operational functions
• The mindset to provide superior service
• The ability to commute to our office in Silicon Valley 5 days per week as this is an on-site role
• High school diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Comp TII A+ certification preferred
• Dell Hardware Certification a plus

Cornerstone Research is offering a competitive market base salary for this position. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position in all eligible locations. This range may differ based on your geographic location and cost of living considerations. At Cornerstone Research, we believe compensation is more than just a base salary. We offer a competitive total compensation package that includes an annual performance bonus and comprehensive benefits such as flexible options for healthcare, paid time off, and retirement savings.
