AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on.
Key Job Responsibilities- Work as part of the Operations team whose primary responsibility is the maintenance and upkeep of the data center infrastructure.
- Install and remove server racks, repair various IT hardware and network components, and respond to emergent situations that affect operations.
- Meet customer service level agreements by resolving problems and serve as the first line of contact for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.
- Perform on‑call duties and participate in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change management activities that require monitoring of the data center infrastructure.
- Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and to discuss achieving daily/weekly goals.
- Understand and apply policies and procedures, including safety and security, within your department.
- Contribute to documentation on technical issues through root cause analysis for operational issues and support process improvement initiatives.
- Assist in training less experienced team members as a more experienced engineer.

- Understanding of maintenance windows and change management
- English & Japanese communication skills
- Linux/networking certifications (RHCSA, CCNA, or equivalent) and scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.)
- BA/BS in technical field or equivalent practical experience
