Enterprise System Project Manager

The Enterprise System Project Manager applies advanced technical project management frameworks and methods in conjunction with Campus and UCSF Health objectives to plan and execute projects in the enterprise administrative application domain (ERP and Web Systems). The Project Manager is an experienced technical/functional professional who can resolve highly complex issues in which analyzing situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Project Manager determines methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain results, and manages projects of broad and diverse scope, size, impact, budget and/or project team size, with considerable impact to the organization.

The Project Manager will manage the Oracle cloud ERP projects as well as the enterprise ecosystem, including Oracle releases and enhancement projects. The scope of this project includes the transition to the new ERP platform itself as well as the associated development of required custom functionality, reporting, interfaces, and other applications and middleware to replace previous customizations and other end‑of‑life business systems that comprise the enterprise systems environment.

The person in this role will be accountable for ensuring the project meets agreed upon scope, cost, schedule and quality measures.

The position requires extensive Oracle Cloud systems experience, a thorough understanding of the interdependencies among systems and processes, knowledge of higher‑education and medical entities' financial and administrative needs, and strong leadership, communication, presentation and project management skills to identify and resolve issues, develop deliverables and timelines, manage stakeholder expectations, and handle post‑deployment adjustments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced project management techniques to independently perform research and studies; lead analyses determining approaches, sources of data, methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to obtain project results.
  • Lead highly complex assessments of needs and technical tool deployment strategies to meet requirements of stakeholders at various levels.
  • Manage the project management process for UCSF administrative ERP products and services, Web projects with broad campus‑wide, medical center, or institution‑wide scope; direct and analyze project proposals and reports.
  • Provide guidance to other project leads/managers, direct, initiate and design projects critical to campus, medical center or Office of the President, assemble and direct large project teams, design highly detailed project plans and schedules, oversee budget and resources, and oversee all aspects from initiation through delivery including system integration, risk and vendor interaction.
  • Organize inter‑departmental or multi‑institutional activities with the goal of completing projects on schedule and within budget constraints; may lead a team of technical project management professionals.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects in enterprise applications.
  • Expert knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and frameworks with demonstrated success delivering large‑scale, complex enterprise programs.
  • Proven experience leading Oracle Cloud ERP (HCM, Finance, SCM) implementations, enhancements, and release management cycles.
  • Strong experience managing hybrid portfolios including ERP platforms, enterprise web/portal, and custom application development.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise architecture and integration patterns, including APIs, middleware (e.g., Mule Soft), and cross‑system data flows.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage end‑to‑end delivery including scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and stakeholder expectations across large, cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience managing complex system integrations, data migration, reporting, and extensions within enterprise ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery models, adapting approach based on project type.
