Job Description & How to Apply Below
We're a stealth AI hardware startup in Redwood City — Series A, small team, moving fast. We're building a suite of consumer devices that integrate voice, vision, and AI, and we need a strong firmware engineer to own the embedded stack.
We are extremely well funded and are led by an ex unicorn founder w/ tier 1 lead investor. We're sure you'll be excited about the company and the potential!
This is a high-ownership role. You'll work primarily on Qualcomm silicon with Realtek experience a strong plus — covering connectivity, audio/video pipelines, OTA infrastructure, and on-device AI. Real decisions, real shipping.
What you'll work on:- Bluetooth and Wi-Fi — stack integration, coexistence, connection reliability, power management
- OTA system end-to-end — delta updates, secure boot, rollback, field reliability
- Audio/video pipelines — low-latency capture and playback, codec integration (AAC, aptX, LC3), DSP tuning
- On-device AI — deploying inference with ML engineers, NPU offloading, quantization tradeoffs
- Platform bring-up and HAL work on Qualcomm and Realtek targets
- 7+ years embedded/firmware, 3+ on Qualcomm platforms
- Real BT stack depth — HFP, A2DP, BLE GATT, not just SDK usage
- Shipped consumer hardware to real users
- Fluent in C/C++, comfortable with JTAG and protocol analyzers
- Solid RTOS fundamentals (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar)
- Understands secure boot, firmware signing, encrypted OTA
