Summary
Meta designs, builds, leases, and operates high-performance, energy-efficient data centers. Meta is seeking a Principal, Strategic Data Center Partnerships to develop Meta’s global data center portfolio in line with the company’s strategic objectives to advance our efforts around AI. This role has global responsibility for the development of the data center strategic partnership program.
The Principal, Strategic Data Center Partnerships supports Meta’s data center strategy by developing large-scale capacity solutions. This role focuses on rapid infrastructure expansion through partnerships with key stakeholders, such as financial institutions, developers, colocation providers, and long-term asset owners.
Principal, Strategic Data Center Partnerships Responsibilities
Lead the strategy for structuring, negotiating, and executing complex, multi-faceted investment partnerships focused on data center and power developmentGrow and lead the strategic partnerships program including identification and commercial structuring of development partner opportunities to enable future data center capacity growthCollaborate with key leaders across design, engineering, construction, finance, and legal to develop the strategic plan needed to execute against the company’s aggressive capacity targetsLead detailed financial modeling, valuation, and sensitivity analysis of potential investments and partnerships to ensure commercial viability and alignment with Meta's financial objectives and business objectivesAlign and build governance around partnership arrangementsDevelop long-term relationships with Meta's key third-party partnersInterface with the global investment and infrastructure community to meet Meta’s infrastructure needsTravel domestically and internationally as needed (25%+)Minimum Qualifications
10 years of overall experience in private equity, investments or infrastructure development with a focus on data center or power infrastructureProven experience in financial structuring, investment and analysis, particularly in infrastructure assetsProven track record of delivering large capital projects leveraging complex commercial structuresStrategic thinker with experience driving decision making in ambiguous environments with experience influencing executive stakeholdersAnalytical problem-solving skills, experience being effective in a fast paced, hands-on work environment, and have a track record of success leading projects and developing complex solutions across multiple stakeholdersDemonstrated communication and presentation skillsProven track record of organizational leadership, including leading larger organizations and scaling teams during growth cyclesExperience assessing industry trends, market opportunities, and the competitive landscape in data center or power infrastructurePreferred Qualifications
Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesExperience in the data center industryInternational infrastructure development experience12+ years of commercial real estate investment and development experienceDemonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, real estate, MBA or J.DExperience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Private equity and investment banking experiencePublic Compensation
$202,000/year to $273,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
