The Strategy & Operations team within Disney Entertainment and ESPN - Product & Technology is responsible for shaping the organization’s long‑term vision, developing actionable product strategies, and executing against the organization’s most critical near‑term priorities.
The team rolls up to the Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) and uses strategic analysis, creative storytelling, and operational rigor to surface insights, frame trade‑offs, and guide decision‑making for Disney’s senior leadership.
As the Director of Product & Technology Strategy & Operations
, you will build and lead a team that serves as the analytical backbone and connective tissue for Product & Technology leadership. This team will use data‑driven rigor and executional discipline to set OKRs, manage performance, and drive operational momentum across the organization.
- Team Building: Build a high‑performing Strategy & Operations team with leads aligned to specific product areas. Serve as a versatile “player/coach,” defining vision and applying analytical expertise to complex problems.
- Organizational Goals: Drive the goal‑setting process for OKRs across the entire Product and Technology organization. Partner with team leads to set objectives, use informed analysis to define measurable targets, and manage recurring leadership reviews.
- Performance Measurement: Serve as the analytical backbone for key metrics. Understand data sets, identify trends, surface insights, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to optimize performance.
- Operational Excellence: Support CPTO‑level review forums (Product Reviews, Weekly Metric Reviews, OKR Reviews, etc.). Proactively identify opportunities to improve velocity and impact through operational rigor.
- Cultural Transformation: Partner with Corporate Communications, Creative Storytelling, and Workplace Experience to plan town halls, offsites, summits, and other large‑scale events representing Product and Technology.
- 12+ years of experience in Prod Ops, Strategy, or Analytics roles within top‑tier technology companies, startups, management consulting, or professional services firms.
- BS/BA in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field; MBA or comparable advanced degree preferred.
- Strong analytical and structured problem‑solving skills; expertise in organizing complex data to create clear, concise narratives. Proficient with Excel, Google Sheets, SQL. Familiarity with Tableau, Looker, or similar BI tools preferred.
- Experience defining and measuring OKRs, KPIs, or comparable success metrics.
- Proactive self‑starter with a passion for driving outcomes and a bias for action. Proven ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously with high attention to detail and execute executive‑level discussions.
- Team‑oriented culture carrier who collaborates cross‑functionally.
- Comfortable in dynamic, fast‑paced, matrixed organizations with significant executive visibility; influences without direct control.
- Strong written, presentation, and oral communication skills; capable of developing high‑level presentations for senior executive audiences.
The hiring range for this position in San Francisco, CA is $ to $ per year, and in Los Angeles, CA is $ to $ per year. Base pay is determined by internal equity and other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided, along with the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
